Boom! That's a +425 cash on Mookie Betts to hit a home run on Opening Day. No better way to start the 2024 season. Let's keep the momentum rolling with three more HR bets for Friday's MLB slate.
Toronto Blue Jays starter Chris Bassitt is a solid fade target in home run props. The right-hander gave up 28 bombs last season, which was the 15th-highest mark in MLB. Arozarena is 3-8 against Bassitt in his career with a home run and two doubles. He has by far the best history against Bassitt of any hitter on the Tampa Bay Rays, so we love the +600 price here.
Devers was a prime candidate to get off to a hot start after his stellar performance in the spring. The Boston Red Sox third baseman hit .380 and slugged .720 in spring training with five home runs, two doubles and 11 RBIs. He kept the hot streak going with a home run and a double against the Seattle Mariners on Opening Day. Now he gets to face right-hander George Kirby, whom Devers is 5-10 against in his career with a homer and a double.
There isn't much friendly home run weather to speak of Friday, but Los Angeles seems to be a decent target for long balls. The wind will be blowing out to left field at Dodger Stadium, creating a projected two percent boost to home runs (Ballpark Pal). Arenado hasn't faced Bobby Miller in his career, but he performed last year better against right-handers than he did against lefties. The St. Louis Cardinals third baseman hit 21 of his 26 homers against righties in 2023, and he's a good option to pull one and ride the wind over the wall.
